KKOKIOH is a monthly magazine illustrating the South Korean Entertainment industry with an objective lens. Being paired up with a South Korean Entertainment company allows KKOKIOH to reach multiple audiences in the west- from fans of South Korean Entertainment to the average magazine enthusiast. Each issue will mimic the style of either an idol group or company itself. September's Entertainment company is SMENT.
KKOKIOH is driven by innovative, unique and risky design while remaining elegant and providing lots of visual oxygen to please the eye. Playing around with the setting of type and allowing typography to drive layouts is a unique aspect of KKOKIOH.
While delving through this project, I had difficulties balancing the magazine’s eccentric personality with elegant simplicity. Doing too much, the final project is a stripping away from the overtly designed magazine to provide readers with ease of access and aesthetic. Playing around with the setting of type and allowing typography to drive layouts is a unique aspect of KKOKIOH.
